We designed and implemented a regional digital knowledge exchange platform for the Pacific Community, integrating Indigenous knowledge systems, policy resources, and scientific data to support climate and disaster resilience across Pacific Island Countries.

The engagement required bridging technical developers, policymakers, and community knowledge holders, translating culturally sensitive knowledge into structured digital systems while ensuring community ownership remained intact throughout.

Supporting the development of Indigenous-language storytelling materials for early childhood education programs across Pacific communities. Working directly with Rotuman cultural knowledge holders to translate oral storytelling traditions into structured bilingual learning resources.

This engagement operates at the intersection of cultural preservation, early childhood literacy, and digital system design, ensuring materials are educationally sound, culturally grounded, and sustainable for community use.

Selected through a competitive U.S. Department of State-affiliated international fellowship, this engagement focused on strengthening pathways between global education innovation ecosystems and community-led education initiatives across the Pacific.

The work contributed Pacific and Global South perspectives into international discussions on digital infrastructure, teacher collaboration networks, and equitable education systems, particularly within conversations connected to the mEducation Alliance and emerging international Communities of Practice models.

A key area of engagement involved helping shape re-engagement strategies for educator Communities of Practice in Fiji through collaboration pathways linked to the U.S. Embassy Fiji and the Fiji Teachers Association. This included strengthening locally grounded literacy, mathematics, and STEM learning communities for primary school educators, while exploring how international partnerships, public diplomacy initiatives, and open digital collaboration models could better support long-term teacher capability development in Pacific contexts.
